Who rode today?

Freezing roads and cold tires, salt dust and unpredictable weather conditions. I guess I just have too much respect for my bike not to mention my life!

Heh... motorcycling is fraught with MANY dangers any time of the year. Whether it be rain, blinding sun, bad drivers, or the conditions at this time of year. No one says you need to drop a knee in these conditions. If it scares you that much, maybe you should consider giving up riding entirely.

Rode this afternoon to the gas station, added some fuel stabiliser rode down tywn rivers, old finch and backroads around that area. Got home, washed her up, oiled the chain and put her in the garage.

Felt amazing to be back on two wheels (for 30 mins)...

This morning was a bit chilly with the wind... and snow's in the forecast for around Christmas time... Nothing like new rubber slipping on cold pavement...

Did the same yesterday. Gas station. Full tank of gas plus stabiliser and back home. Parked for good now.

Saw a guy on the 401 through Mississauga yesterday on some kind of cruiser. He didn't let the fact that he was riding a motorcycle in the winter prevent him from cutting from the right lane all the way to the left lane in one sweep without signaling causing a bunch of people to have to slam on their brakes to not kill him.

Today (2009-12-31 new years eve) around noon time, I saw someone riding in the Fairview mall area, looks like that biker was going onto hwy 404 or something like that. Didn't get a good look at the bike, looks like it could have been a touring or maybe a low cc sports bike, maybe a 250cc. I guess the riding season really never ends as long as the roads are good.

I just came back from a short half hour ride. There's a lot of snow from the snowplow at the base of my driveway so I kind of got stuck heading back into the garage but other than that it was nice to be out for a bit.

Sicnce it was so nice last night I commuted in to work today. 58 km each way. Roads aroun my house are slushy so you have to be a bit more careful but apart from that the biggest issue is the road spray messing up the faceshield.

I rode on Friday too. Finally was getting around to putting the bike away for the winter. However, it was nice enough to take it for a one hour spin before it went into hibernation. This is a record for me. My previous record for a last day of the season ride was December 31st about 4 years ago.

It was exciting being out riding in mid january... i took my bike out on saturday for an hour spin.... cant wait till spring...
