excellent. only a few corners have gravel plus one corner cut up with gravel on it. Other then that, no hidden surprises on straights or anywhere in the barrens.

It is a road that runs between Hwy 11 and the 169. The exit off Hwy 11 is south of Gravenhurst. Up there, in Muskoka County, many of the roads are listed as Muskoka Rd XXX, so Southwood Road is also called Muskoka Rd 13. I think.
It is one of the more technical roads that is closer to the GTA and it's about 30km long. If you go, be careful of the railroad tracks (3) as they are rough. Good fun and the gateway to many of the better roads in the Muskokas.

yesterday. Apart from the odd patch near junctions (intersections) it looked pretty clean and smooth. Leaves were dry as well so no slippy slip slip.
Spineless swines. Cemented minds.
Definitely a nice ride today. Very little traffic to contend with. The scenery up north is still pretty decent but the leaves are going to be gone soon.
First time on Southwood Rd. (as mentioned, Muskoka C.R. 13). It was more entertaining than the 507, but I had to take it easy since I wasn't familiar with the road, plus I wanted to actually take in the scenery. Even still, the limitations of the stock SV suspension quickly became apparent. It's certainly not a smooth road! A few gravel patches, but nothing that would take you by surprise if you're keeping your head up and not riding at 10/10ths. Also a few leaves on the road, but not enough to worry about.
Was there on Nov.8 and it was in fine form. No wet leaves on the road surface and just the usual suspects of the railroad tracks, bumps in the corners and the odd bit of sand or gravel here and there.
