There are always people selling stuff on Cherrypicker even if there are no posts. Just post a message there asking for wheels for your bike and somebody will have something. I got my spare SV wheels this way and when I asked for a CBR set for a friend I had 3 different people selling them that hadn't posted for sale.

I use cherrypicker, the 10r.net, kawiforums, the WERA forum and good ole eBay. i've struck gold a few times in the last couple months on ebay... you gotta wade through the crap to find the deals tho.

often model specific forums will have parts more readily available, but usually the prices are higher.

I figure you bring a tube of JBweld and just form the part you need

Doesn't work so good when you need a spare ankle, spare kneecap, spare collarbone etc...

do you have specific websites, places, to track these auctions?

You posted that WERA site a short while ago, some of the deals are killer.
I'll definitely head down to the states for a track bike.
    Thanks!

ridesafely.com is a good one, all over the US for the most part. there's a guy in Rochester NY that runs wreckedbikes.net, if you had a particular model in mind i bet he could track one down for you. from what i've seen you should be able to pick up a salvage title bike with a lot of good spare hard parts for a couple grand.

The last 5 bikes i've bought were from the US. Unless something big and unexpected happens to the used bike market in Ontario in the future, i'll continue to buy my bikes out of the US. The WERA board is a good place to look for parts/bikes/gear.

I like the two bike solution better. If I write off two bikes in one day..I don't need anymore spares and prob. should just go home !! lol
