'08 250r ninja midrange rpm problems

    hey ppl,

looking for some help today. My gf's ninja (2008 250r) is having some problems - it's having trouble in any gear at around 7k-8k rpms...it climbs fine up to there, but once it hits 7/8/9 thousand rpm it sounds as if it's gonna die - it doesnt; intermittently it will regain power momentarily but then goes back to the stalling-self. Mind you it never does stall, and the problem can be avoid during easy commuting by up/downshifting before hitting those rpms, but as you prolly expect makes commuting a lot less interesting/fun.

Any thoughts? Anybody had this problem before?

Thanx again to all who contribute,

    too rich or too lean

pull on the chock slightly when the condition occurs and report back if it gets better or worse.
also please post what modifications the bike has

Sounds lean to me, if it's too rich it'll splutter in low RPMS. Are you running aftermarket exhaust?

too lean it can sputter anywhere.
That's why there is a choke for stating it when cold.
It adds fuel so that it doesn't sputter when it is cold.

not really sure what you guys mean by too lean or too rich...are you saying this can be fixed by opening up the choke a bit?

it can be diagnosed by using the choke

If you don't know what lean or rich is then take it to a shop
