Re: No Ticket Quotas? Ha!
Take them all to court and watch out how many 11b's there will be!
Re: No Ticket Quotas? Ha!
A friend was a traffic enforcement officer with the O.P.P. (specialised unit) they had an unstated quote of 1,000 tickets per year. It was never written down but they were informally told if they write too few tickets, they will get transferred back to regular patrol.

Ditto from my brother who was a metro cop 30+ years ago. No written quota but if the numbers were too low you got hauled over the carpet for not being observant enough.
Assuming a new cop working 50 weeks a year with some statuatory days off that works out to 4 or 5 per day. I could write that many in Toronto in an hour from what I see through the windshield.

Money's getting tight, can't raise taxes, so you gotta do it somehow. Highway robbery's the ticket (pun intended)
Re: No Ticket Quotas? Ha!
what would be nice is if the quota can only be 50 % speeding. I would agree with that quota.

That'd be easy.. Many people drive with outdated insurance slips or forget to sign the back of the ownership, or their plates look dirty.............. Stop the guy for speeding, issue a couple of value-added tickets and your quotas have been met
