Saw three moose on my easter sunday ride thru the park. Lots of sand between huntsville and the park on hwy60 but the park has very little road sand.
Does anyone have a route for Algonquin, leaving from Toronto looking for some scenic stops while we're there, the lookout point sounds good, some hiking would be nice as well and maybe renting a canoe or something to get out on one of the lakes?
I was up that way last weekend and the black flies are just starting to come out. I wouldn't plan stopping and do any adventuring now or for the next 3 weeks or so. (they'll pick you up and carry you away). Algonquin Park outfitters rent canoes and will even deliver to your camp site if requested.
