El-p's new album leaked a few weeks early(please support artist I already purchased his prerelease). I'm definitely on the production and music side. Been like that for as long as I can remember. This track isn't your standard verse, chorus, verse, chorus, etc. it's long but I think worth it.

People have been talking about this since the end of the 90's (Hip Hop's renaissance period, imo), but I kinda like the state of Hip Hop after 2000: It's gone back underground. That crap you hear all over the radio is commercial rap... the real stuff is still underground, with only a few acts in the commercial scene that represent real hip hop.
Lots of good stuff out there, you just gotta hunt for it. I like it this way.
Well you can't spell crap without rap... hip hop peaked with vanilla ice... All kidding aside, they are all sell outs and that is in itself the downfall, each one is more "extreme" than the last and none of them care about the tunes. What we have now is the equivalent of the hairband era but instead of metal it is hip hop.
Novel idea, make some good tunes and worry less about your street cred, in the end it should be about the tunes not the other crap (see how I book ended that).
Rest in Peace, MCA. Lost but never forgotten.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeUm2...e_gdata_player
