Re: CBC - Street racing: thousands charged, few convicted
It's very frustrating that much of the public still believe the street racing law ONLY applies to the 50km/h+ rule.

Damn, I missed it, but apparently I tried informing the wrong talkshow host about the issue. Who did they have filling in for The Motts today (that's their time slot)?
**EDIT** Oh, it was Ryan Doyle. He's a younger guy (as in 'not in his 50s').

Or how easily when passing on a 2 lane road in a 80 zone you can get up to 130 kph, even if for an instant. For those crying mom's who say you should never go that fast when passing, they should try passing at only 10 or 20kph over the limit. It takes FOREVER and is more unsafe than a quick blast to complete the pass.

well....until the MTO provides the #s I've asked for, I'm just going to assume that the overwhelming majority of charges being dealt down are because of the transition zone
I can just see a Crown or JP rolling their eyes when the charge in the preceding zone was 20-over.....and a lapse in judgement or just being too late on the brakes results in a trumpted up racing charge with all the lovely benefits of no due process
I've seen way too many comments online since Sept. of stings set up in transition zones with tow trucks lined up.....so that's where the #s are coming from IMO....both in charges and charges not sticking
