Thanks fellas.
What I meant by "spirited ride" is something with a few twists and turns. Straight roads get boring, even for passengers. I'm not in the business of being an idiot and trying to drag knee when two up, but something with a little lean angle is nice. And no, I won't be doing 130km/h into or out of any corners...
And by no means did I mean spirited in the drinken sense. That'd never happen, not even at all!
And yeah, the room is for afterwards...
OK, if that is what you want you will need to take a ride west along 26 to Thornbury and turn south on Grey Road 13, AKA Beaver Valley Road. Follow it all the way south to Kimberley, then turn around and retrace your route. It is the best road up there. You could also take a ride up Blue Mountain using the road that goes up to the Scenic Caves. There are a few spots at the top where you can look out over the bay.
Just did the Forks tonite both ways...didn't notice any closures..was it openned just for the long weekend?
I'll have to do it again Tuesday nite ,(2morrow), and post up.
As of yesterday the forks are still wide open... Lots of signs, but not closures..
Maybe this is a new tactic by the locals! :)
rode the forks again today.
There is now a sign that states:
August 9th, construction will begin.
So, it looks like its good to ride the forks this weekend.
cheers
Road still closed as of today
Closed for them to turn it into a dead straight road :laughing8:!!
