welcome mang, when you want to ride anytime you let me know mang, !!! be safe
DId I just read on one of the threads that you are getting rid of the 1000?
Just respect the power. I got my M2 last year and with no motorcycle experience as all, I bought a 2008 1000RR as my first bike. I thought my insurance was high until I read your post. For the first year I was paying $2500 and this year it went down to $1500 for the year:cool:. I guess my age is a factor; yes I’m an older rider. There’s a video called Twist of the Wrist 2 which helped me a lot. Ride safe and enjoy……..
Welcome, insurance at $500 a month bites.
(im new here too so Me saying welcome is kinda silly, but welcome ne ways) Im sure youve been told this allready but just incase, In ontario the legal minimum insurance liability is 200,000$ Call your agent and tell them you want it. its your right and they cannot deny you it. it will save you a bit on your insurance. Another thing is that you can get rid of the coprehensive and fire, I would suggest it. Honestly your on a motorcycle, lets face it. If you crash it (and esp if you crash a liter bike and ur a new rider) the last thing your going to be worried about is the collision coverage on your bike.
I know, I sound like a dick but I cant stand seeing people get raped on insurance like this, unless this is what makes you feel safe and confident as a rider on the road, Go to basic PL and PD insurance and tell them you want 200,000$ coverage not a million.
Anyone who thinks Im being stupid, Please feel free to hate my views on insurance all you want, But do this guy a favor and keep his thread clean, feel free to pm me your flames.
It's all about personal preference. Fire and theft is a calculated odds risk but for me I would not do less than a million liability. $200,000 sounds like a lot but its not when you think about catastrophic claims.
Think about it, $200K is barely 4 years income based on an aveage salary so what about the medical expenses etc.
As Kyle states it is possible to lower premiums but just be aware of the bigger picture and potential future costs.
while i compleatly understand where your coming from with that, Look at it this way.... If your involved in an accident where you would be in a situation to use anywhere near 200,000 worth the insurance coverage on a motorcycle, You wont be alive, most likely. My father got cut off on the 427, run over by a truck, and still didnt use or recieve anywhere near 200,000
That stuff is amazing. One tube and even $5k doesnt hurt as much eh..lol
