Problem accessing webite.
Everytime I try to access GTAMOTORCYCLE.COM I get a timeout. I tried it on every computer on my network including my iPod Touch and I get this timeout. I tried it with Firefox, IE8, Chrome and Safari and I get nothing. GTAMOTORCYCLE.CA works.
I'm accessing it right now through a free online VPN.
Is it a problem at my end or has my IP address been black listed for some reason?
thanks.
Edit: I even tried the IP address 67.227.134.58 and it doesn't work. So it's not a DNS problem
Re: Problem accessing webite.
I had the same thing happen the other week. I could get in only sporadically, and even then only after resetting my modem to obtain a new IP address.
Once I was able to get in again, I ended up editing my profile to update my email address, after which the forum software sent me an activation email to the email address to confirm that it is re email address. After I clicked on the activation link in the confirmation email, everything started working normally again. Note - the confirmation email may end up in your junk mail folder, so be sure to look there for it if you don't see it in your inbox within a few minutes.

Post your traceroute results...
(jump to command prompt if using windows, then type : tracert www.gtamotorcycle.com )
Re: Problem accessing webite.
Thanks Turbo for the suggestion. It's was a Rogers IP address problem. I had to change the MAC address on my router for Rogers to give me a new IP address. Just unplugging it didn't work and I read that you have to leave it unplugged from 4 hours to 72 hours to get a new IP address.
Xhumeka, thanks but I read your reply after I renewed my IP address.
BTW, 99.245.146.151 can't access GTAM

I don't think your router got a new MAC address but I know what you're talking about I think :)
Good idea posting your former IP address, maybe Paul has it on the ban list because of some former member. Unless you are the one he's trying to ban, he can probably remove it from the list!

yes I changed the MAC address on my Dlink.
Under WAN in the router, I clicked on "RELEASE IP" then I unplugged the modem. Changed the last digit of the MAC address in the router from a 3 to a 0 then I clicked on "RENEW IP" then I plugged the modem back in. 30 sec later I checked my IP address and I got a new one. Check GTAM and it worked.

While an actual physical MAC address cannot be changed in hardware, the address can be emulated in software. This process is called cloning. Many broadband routers today support MAC address cloning as an advanced configuration option. The emulated MAC address appears to the service provider identical to the original hardware address. The specific procedure of cloning varies depending on the type of router; consult product documentation for details.
I never knew that option existed for newer routers - again, you're not changing the physical MAC address, you are just getting your router to emulate (via software) a different MAC address than the actual physical one.
Thanks for sharing - good to know!

when i do this it says request time out
Re: Problem accessing webite.
If you're not having problems accessing this site, don't worry about it... but your traceroute should look similar to this (parts redacted for privacy):
http://www.ragefaction.info/images/p...10/tracert.jpg
Where it times out is _usually _where the problem occurs...
Re: Problem accessing webite.

Sorry, I thought you had the problem figured out? Is it still an issue?
Re: Problem accessing webite.
no no.. it's solved... But I did ask (and someone else did) why that IP address (99.245.146.151) was blocked? Or is that too "inside baseball" for me?

Haha...not too inside baseball at all. I checked the IP and and it was not on the blocked list.
I had another user with the same problem, his IP wasn't on the block list either, but he reset his router and everything worked fine.
So I'm not really sure why certain IP's didn't work.

Haven't been able to access the site for over a week from work. No problem from home. What do I need to do? I can't reset the router at work so that won't work for me. What do I need to show you from my work computer? From work I'll have to email you the JPG of anything you want. Is info@gtamotorcycle.com a valid address to email to?

I think you're SOL... you can access GTAM from www.hidemyass.com unless your work blocks hideMyAss.com

See what I did above in post 4 and post 6
Re: Problem accessing webite.
for all this having problems. Please go to. Http://www.whatismyipaddress.com and pm me your IP address.
It will also help if you can do a traceroute and email the screen shot to paul@gtamotorcycle.com
I'm working with the server to find out why these IPs are blocked.
Once you have the problem IP. Then reset your router to option a new IP and that should work. (see previous posts)
Thanks folks
Paul
Re: Problem accessing webite.
I'll send you my IP, not screwing around with my computer, I'll just stay banned then. I can go to every site on the web...just not gtam

Today it works from work. I didn't do anything here.

Re: Problem accessing webite.
Ya had the same issue on my work computer....but my home computer was fine. Not sure if you did anything Paul, but my work computer is able to get on the site for now (I did nothing to the work computer, just seemed to make GTAM available today).
I thought I was blocked by the admins some how....you hurt my feelings sniff sniff.
