thinking of doing this myself, some good runs would be helpful
Anywhere, lol.
I went on a bike trip to Warren, PN - there were a ton of nice back roads around there. I recommend checking out some of the back roads no matter where you go . . .might not lead you anywhere, but they're amazing to ride on!
Pennsylvania is awesome ! Start out of Olean, NY and head south from there. Be sure to try the 44, 144, 555, 666, 120?, etc. Basically, as long as you're of the slab, the roads are fantastic !
If your route takes you through Olean NY. Try and time it around lunch or dinner. A stop at the Beef and Barrel is well worth it. http://www.beefnbarrel.com/
Enjoy the trip!
Agreed, any of the secondary roads are fantastic.
Food is unbelievably cheap as well.
Avoid travelling at dusk though; lots and lots of deer down that way.:reindeer:
Enjoy your trip!
Awesome guys. Thanks for the suggestions, ive altered my trip accordingly. Forget slabbing it down, secondary looks to be much more enjoyable.
You should check out hwy 6 if you can.
+1!! pennsylvania is the only motorcycle trip i've done so far, so i don't have much to compare it to. but having said that, it's three or four trillion times better than southwestern ontario. new york was boring as heck though, is there a ferry that lands crosses lake erie or anything? what's the funnest (relatively direct) way to get to pennsylvania?
PA is one of my favourite places to ride. Close enough to home, and some super amazing roads!
Have a great trip, I'm jealous.
If memory serves me well...
44, 144, 664, 973, 664, 864, 87, and 154.
The roads are great, traffic is light, and Williamsport is a decent city to use as a base. Nice restaurants.
Well made it home safe and sound after logging 1700 clicks of some really great roads. Thanks to the members here for some suggestions and tried to hit as many of the roads as I could. Hwy 120 going west from Montgomery was outstanding. The "mini Gap" was a great road that we roade 3 or 4 times before continuing on our way.
If anyone wants to go to a state with great roads, fanatastic food at fantastic prices and friendly people this would be the place for you. Only rain we encountered was 10 minute downpour on the way home on the 407 so really no complaints. Didnt get alot of great shots .......heres a couple anyway

Damnn ya i forgot about pa!! i went to new jersey(cage) last year and was driving through pa and was like this would be a sick bike ride, go right through thousand islands there, that would be the best ride IMO.
Be forwarned of the ticks that carry the lyme disease. I ended up getting severly swollen ankles and joint pain from the bite. Not fun........ Just a warning to anyone interested in hitting up some great roads, cheap food and friendly people.
How was your buddy on the GS? Decent bike for long distance?
My friend has one, but I'm not sure if I should invite him along for a 1800km/3 day trip we're doing this fall.
I'm trying to find HWY 120 out of Montgomery and can't find it on a map..
Let me see what i can do

Stay on 120 , it rocks. Literally watch for fallen rocks
