I used to do trail and amateur motocross racing (11 and 7 years respectively). Guess I'm back in the game.

Inspect the valves, and ride it. :) Eventually I may do some things to it but that will depend... as I'm 25 years since my last motocross race and have no intention to compete again, this is just for fun.
250 or 450?
2008 kx 450f.
Ooh that'll be fun, especially if you've been away from dirt for awhile.
That's the hope. Bought some Tech3 boots and some cool Thor pants on the weekend, and I have one of the Joe Rocket armoured/mesh stunt vests to wear over my shirt... that should be enough protection to start out, anyways. I'm going to look like a n00b no matter what I do... lol
Getting used to the differences between 2-smoke and 4-stroke is going to take a while... I've been warned that just letting off the throttle into corners or jumps doesn't work like the way the old smokers did... let off the throttle going off a jump and the front end will nose down... all that compression and all those spinny things in the top end of the motor, apparently...
Oooh are you gonna find muscles that you didn't know you had!
I'm seriously thinking of selling my street Hyper and buying a modern trials bike to see if i can still do it with my feet up.
Took a little bit better picture of it tonight, had it out and got it in the truck for its valve inspection tomorrow morning, so I know for sure that it's been done. Shows the great shape this bike is in for a four year old motocross machine, and it cost me... well, probably $2000 bucks less than you'd pay if it was on a dealer floor.

The worst problem on this bike appears to be that the sticker on the left side of the swingarm came unglued. :D
You aren't checking the valves yourself? It's a pretty simple process, very quick on those. I was checking mine after every couple rides just to be safe.
i am so jealous Op.. nice new toy i so want one....
I'll teach myself to do the valve inspection, but today is not that day. :) Thanks for the compliments, I'm really stoked with the price and the overall bike.
Enjoy! Always great to have another one join the dirty boys.
Look at MMRS and CMX race clubs. Very family oriented and low key, cheaper than CMRC and there is no doubt a class for your age group!
Spring is coming I'm getting pumped. Got some new fancy levers ordered and sending the suspension off in the next couple weeks. Race season is almost here!!
You're gonna to love it.....
I took mine out to the indoor track in Wallaceburg yesterday for a family day ride...had a blast :)
First ride out after a total rebuild....

Nice clean bike!!
I'd say that bike needs to be taken down and inspected and cleaned up good before the season too. I like the couple days in the garage at the time of year to start getting the bike ready to go for the season.
Good bottle of degreaser/brake cleaner and some rags and a few wrenches is a good afternoon.
Done like a dinner. Will consider clutch/final drive when I'm sure this is something I'm still up to. :lmao:

Headed to the track for a full day next week (feb 29).
Glad there was no insult taken with that, some people are sensitive.
Wish I could join ya at the track. I have the time off next week, but I blew yet another fork seal on my last ride so I'm waiting to get my suspension back From factory connection. I blew6 or 7 of them last year so I hope they find the issue.
Wouldn't that put the hose closer to the wheel? Looks right to me.
Never mind, it is suppost to be on the inside, good catch.
