the university may not let him graduate until he pays it
and i'm sure the longer he waits, the more late fees and interest charges they'll slap on
but just make sure they're legit HTA tickets, and that they can be fought in a Provincial Court
the question now becomes, will it affect his driving abstract and insurance rates?
_____
the fine seems to be incorrect for a 12 over ticket
$2.50 x 12 over = $33 (Schedule A @
http://www.ontariocourts.ca/ocj/en/s...schedule43.doc)
Victim Surcharge = $10 (
http://www.e-laws.gov.on.ca/html/reg...s_000161_e.htm)
Court Fee = $5
Fine should be = $48 if it was a legit HTA ticket
so that would be a Fatal Error if it was brought to Trial, JP would toss it
