Hey 2smokewilleh just found your rebuild thread, beautiful. It turned out well.
I just bought a 1975 T500 but it needs alot of work. How did you split the crank? Did you have to buy special tools? I have read that it is something that has to be done by a machine shop. I have re-built a few engines so would like to do it myself if I could. The previous owner told me that it smokes badly from one of the exhaust pipes and from my research that sounds like a blown centre seal. I would be interested to hear anything you have to say about the bike and your resto.
